On Friday, January 29, 2016, the Port Huron Prowlers and Lake Huron Medical Center are hosting “Fight Like A Kid” Childhood Cancer Awareness Night at the Prowlers game at McMorran Arena.

Named the “Best In Cancer Care” by the Commission on Cancer, Lake Huron Medical Cancer Center recognizes that cancer affects people of all ages and stages of life. “Fight Like A Kid” will promote childhood cancer awareness as well as provide area residents information and education about oncology services offered locally. Special activities, including chuck-a-puck, silent auction, and a specially designed jersey auction will be offered to raise funds for cancer research and support.

Tickets for the game are $10 each and are available for purchase through the Lake Huron Medical Center Marketing Department. Prowlers' players will also make a visit to Lake Huron Medical Center to sell tickets on January 26 and 27 from 11 am to 1 pm. Tickets can also be purchased online at or the evening of the game at the arena. A $3 donation will be made for every ticket sold.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to the ChadTough Foundation and the Lake Huron Foundation. The ChadTough Foundation funds research and raises awareness for Pediatric Brain Tumors with an emphasis on Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Lake Huron Foundation's oncology fund provides support to oncology patients treated through the Lake Huron Medical Cancer Center.

"As leaders in cancer care, it is important that we as a medical facility work to bring awareness of all cancers, treatment options and continued health care, regardless of the patient's age," states Dr. Kanu Dalal. "Supporting the awareness of pediatric cancers provides additional opportunities for our community and neighbors to find the medical answers they are looking for from high quality, compassionate physicians who are dedicated to providing life-saving care."

Lake Huron Medical Center is proud to support the Port Huron Prowlers in their inaugural season in the Blue Water Area. Committed to providing medical coverage to the players during hockey games, Lake Huron Medical Center and Medical Group are taking this partnership as an opportunity to raise awareness for childhood cancer as well as oncology services and support offered locally through the Lake Huron Medical Cancer Center.
