Lake Huron Medical Center Heart Care

Heart disease is the leading cause of death and a major cause of disability in the United States. At Lake Huron Medical Center, we provide comprehensive, advance heart care delivered by knowledgeable, experienced cardiac professionals. Our heart care specialists offer state-of-the-art heart care, from diagnosis and emergency intervention to the latest treatments, preventative education and rehabilitation.

Diagnostic Testing

EKGs, MUGA scans, echo-cardiograms and stress tests are performed at two convenient locations: Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron and LHMC Health Center in Fort Gratiot. Cardiac catheterizations are performed at Lake Huron Medical Center.


Cardiac Electrophysiology is the diagnosis and treatment of patients with electrical or rhythm disorders of the heart. The electrophysiology program specializes in the management of cardiac arrhythmias and arrhythmia-related problems.

Open Heart Surgery

Lake Huron Medical Center offers access to open heart surgical procedures including Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery, Minimally Invasive CABG, and Valve surgery.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Lake Huron Medical Center offers the only out-patient cardiac rehabilitation program in the Blue Water Region. Cardiac Rehabilitation services are offered at the LHMC Health Center, in Fort Gratiot to help patients maintain an optimum level of functioning.


This cardiac education and support group is available for individuals and their family members. HeartLink offers continual information, education and support on cardiac disease. HeartLink meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Huron Medical Center.

Cardiac Scoring

Lake Huron Medical Center offers access to Cardiac Scoring Services through local radiologists. This fee-for-service program utilizes advanced diagnostic capabilities to provide a noninvasive method to evaluate the potential for cardiac diseases, especially for those at high-risk. Community Outreach

Education, presentations and screenings on a variety of cardiac health related topics and risk factors are available regionally through a dedicated community outreach coordinator.
