Lake Huron Medical Center welcomes general surgeons Shilpin Mehta, DO and
Aaron Overly, DO, to its medical team.
Drs. Mehta and Overly have specialized training in bariatric and robotic surgery.
“We are pleased to welcome Drs. Mehta and Overly to our experienced
team,” said Lake Huron Medical Center Chief Executive Officer, Jay
de los Reyes. “They are committed to delivering surgical care that
is of the highest quality and each brings a strong focus on general and
specialized areas of surgery that will add value and expertise to our
patients and hospital."
Dr. Mehta received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan,
and his medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New
York, New York. His general surgery residency was completed at St. John
Providence Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights. Dr. Mehta also served
as a research assistant at the University of Michigan Cancer Center and
Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Dr. Overly received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University,
and his medical degree from Touro University of Nevada College of Osteopathic
Medicine in Henderson, Nevada. He completed his general surgery residency
with St. John Oakland Hospital in Warren where he severed as co-director
of General Surgery Residency Education. Dr. Overly has also served as
a Quality Improvement Advisor for Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte.
