National Nurses Week is celebrated annually on May 6-12. It is throughout
this week that Lake Huron Medical Center raises awareness of all nurse
contributions and commitments and acknowledges the important role nurses
play in society.
"On behalf of our hospital and more importantly on behalf of the patients
and families we care for, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation
to you, our nurses, for dedicating your lives to the welfare of others,"
commented Janet Herbert, RN and Chief Nursing Officer/VP of Operations.
"Thank you for caring for our patients and community with compassion
"During National Nurses Week, Lake Huron Medical Center would like
to extend a special thanks to you, our nurses, as they continue to provide
the highest level of quality care to our patients," commented Rebekah
Smith, RN and Chief Executive Officer. "You deserve special recognition
for your efforts in delivering compassionate care while encompassing the
principles of ethical practice in your profession. Our gift to you, in
celebration of your service on this meaningful day is to remain at the
bedside with you. We will continue to support you and tirelessly strive
to provide you with the resources you need to achieve your performance
standards and goals."
In addition to this commitment, Lake Huron Medical Center has made a contribution
to the St. Clair County Community College Foundation's
100 Nurses in 100 Days campaign in honor of our 237 nurses.
Lake Huron Medical Center thanks their nursing staff for giving of themselves
in such a profound way. The nurses' commitment to service is an inspiration
to all who work in their presence and is an asset to our community. Lake
Huron Medical Center could not, and would not be the organization that
we are without you.
