Lake Huron Foundation Volunteer Organization, an initiative of more than
100 volunteers, has names Kathy Pietrowski its 2016 Volunteer of the Year.
"Through volunteer service the Lake Huron Foundation Volunteer Organization
has made significant contributions to our hospital’s many successes,"
said Rebekah Smith, Chief Executive Officer and President of Lake Huron
Medical Center. "Kathy treats everyone with respect and kindness
no matter what the situation is. It can be very stressful for people who
find themselves in need of the services we provide, and she goes out of
her way to comfort and guide them. Her kindness has not gone unnoticed."
The Lake Huron Foundation Volunteer Organization (LHFVO) Volunteer of the
Year Award annually recognizes a member for efforts in support of Lake
Huron Medical Center and the Lake Huron Foundation. Together, these organizations
strive to provide high quality, cost-effective health care to the mind,
body and spirit of all those we serve and to be noble stewards of the
resources entrusted to us.
Pietrowski has been a volunteer for (LHFVO) for 20 years and has served
in many leadership roles including that of Treasurer. She currently serves
as a member of the Courier Team and has a willingness to serve in whatever
capacity is needed.
"Among all of her great qualities, it is her positive attitude that
is most notable," added Rosemary Hunger, Volunteer and Senior Services
Coordinator. "She is pleasant, eager to help and always has a smile
for visitors, patients, staff and volunteers."
