Lake Huron Medical Center Celebrates March Employee and Volunteer of the Month

03-27-2017

Lake Huron Medical Center (LHMC) celebrated its employees and volunteers during a recognition event where the Employee and Volunteer of the Month of March were announced.

The March 2017 Employee of the Month is Shannon Mills. Shannon is an EMT and has been employed with LHMC since July 2013. Shannon is a committed to the Lake Huron Medical Center team and goes above and beyond what is asked of her. She was nominated specifically for her accountability, team work and commitment.

The March 2017 Volunteer of the Month is Christine (Chris) Brown. Chris is the Chairperson for the Threads of Comfort committee in the Volunteer Organization. Her efforts, beautiful lap robes, and knitted items are donated to our patients. Chris has developed this program and fostered relationships with many crafters in the area-increasing our donations. She also makes sure all items are “blessed” by Spiritual Care and makes sure staff are aware of items to pass along to patients. This year, she has worked with knitters to provide hats to patients in Radiology and mittens to People’s Clinic. She is specifically recognized for customer service, team work, commitment, compassion and creativity.

Lake Huron Medical Center extends a special thank you to Shannon Mills and Christine Brown for making the Lake Huron Medical Center difference. If you would like to nominate a physician, employee, or volunteer at Lake Huron Medical Center, nomination forms can be found conveniently located throughout the hospital.
