Lake Huron Medical Center Celebrates Employees and Volunteers of the Month

Lake Huron Medical Center celebrated its employees and volunteers during National Hospital Week and announced their Employee and Volunteer of the Month for the months of January, February, March and April.

January: Employee of the Month was Marie Drozer. Marie was nominated by a peer who said, "Marie is absolutely wonderful at her job. She is always on the move. If you ask her to do something, order something, fax, call, whatever it is; it's done instantly. She is helpful, kind, caring and always positive."

Volunteer of the Month was Charles "Chuck" Wilcox. Chuck has been volunteering for over two years and currently volunteers as a courier and as a patient ambassador. He is described as being, "committed to our LHMC patients and goes out of his way to make their visit as easy and pleasant as possible."

February: Employee of the Month was Eric Kivel. Eric was nominated for his professionalism and customer service by an associate who said, "He took the time with an older couple and showed them to our Sanctuary."

Volunteer of the Month was Marilyn Moss. Marilyn was has been a volunteer since 1999 and is the past president for the volunteer board. She was nominated by a peer who said, "As past president, Marilyn has shown leadership and is a hard worker."

March: Employee of the Month was Grace Elizabeth. Grace was nominated by a colleague who said, "She always takes the extra step in caring for her patients and goes the extra mile with her co-workers."

Volunteer of the Month was Barb Kreutzer. Barb has been a volunteer for four years and is the current fundraiser chairperson. She is described as, "always on the lookout for new, fun, creative fundraising ideas."

April: Employee of the Month was Jennifer Rader Jennifer was nominated by a co-worker who said, "Several family members were very pleased how Jenn went above and beyond with discharge planning," adding that she is, "very caring and compassionate toward all our patients and family members."

Volunteer of the Month was Sandy Bonito. Sandy has been a volunteer for 26 years. She was nominated by a peer who said, "Sandy is always the volunteer we turn to for everything! She is a great leader for the volunteers!"

Through the new employee recognition program, Customer Care Chain, employees, volunteers, visitors and patients can nominate someone who displayed commendable qualities. Nomination forms are conveniently located throughout the hospital. At the end of each month, all nomination forms will be collected and separated into two groups: colleague and volunteer.
